Two great runs for two great causes!
The University of Victoria is pleased to support two great initiatives this fall and have chosen to do so in a recreation fashion. In the same strides as last year's President's Run led by UVic president professor Jamie Cassels and Vikes Athletics and Recreation, there will be two upcoming events to support each of the Terry Fox Foundation and the United Way Campaign.
On Sept. 24, Vikes cross-country and track athletes will support and participate in the on-campus Terry Fox Run, which will leave the Student Union Building at 11:30 a.m. This year's Terry Fox Run is organized by the UVic Student Society (UVSS). Vikes cross-country and track team athletes will be participating and will be able to give any running tips to interested participants. For more information on how to support visit: http://www.terryfox.org/CauseCampus/
On Oct. 6, Vikes athletes will also be participating in a special United Way President's Walk, which will begin at 12 p.m. at University Centre. People of all fitness levels are invited to participate in the Ring Road walk organized by Vikes Athletics and Recreation.
